Scouting America Troop 916 is located in Evanston, IL and mainly draws members from the surrounding area of Evanston, Skokie, and the northern part of Chicago. First chartered in 1922 by the Kiwanis Club of Evanston, Troop 916 has met continuously at Oakton School for over 95 years, since 1931. School District 65, the Ridgeville Park District and St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church support the troop by providing space for Scout activities, and for storing equipment.
We are proud to provide access to quality events for scouts of all backgrounds and abilities; ALL are welcome to participate.

Scouting is For Everyone
Troop 916 is proud to offer scouting to all youth, regardless of gender identity or presentation. The lessons learned in scouting apply to everyone, and in our Troop, all are welcome to participate in the education of the outdoors.
This year our troop celebrates the seventh anniversary of welcoming girls into Cub Scouting and Scouting America programs. Scouting America currently serves more than 176,000 girls and young women across all programs, including over 6,000 who have earned the rank of Eagle Scout.
